Filled with translucent lime colored nutrient gel, the Gel Colony™ contains everything you need to maintain a healthy ant colony. (All you add is a supply of ants.) The Illuminated Gel Colony™ even includes an order form to receive a supply of live ants by mail.* With the Ant Farm® Gel Colony™, there is no need to add any supplemental food or water as the gel provides a perfectly balanced diet for your ants. While they have always been easy to care for, now you can enjoy the first truly maintenance free Ant Farm®! Connectable & Expandable… The Illuminated Gel Colony™ is the perfect ant habitat for both beginners and advanced Myrmecologists (a big word for ant watchers) who are eager to create an expandable ant habitat. As with most Uncle Milton Ant Farms, the Gel Colony™ is readily connectible. With 4 built in Ant Ports, you can connect two, four, a dozen, or even more Gel Colonies!
